64 organisations clinch environment excellence awards

KARACHI :   Sixty-four companies were given away 10th Annual Environment Excellence Awards (AEEA) by National Forum for Environment & Health (NFEH) for showing best environment conservation performance at an impressive ceremony held at a local hotel on Friday night.
More than 140 companies submitted their nominations out of which 64 were awarded.
The organisations which acheived awards are: Aga Khan University Hospital, Al-Rahim Textile Industries, Anis Associates, Asli Punjab Pumps Bestway Cement, Clariant Pakistan, CRLF Crown Group, Dawlance, Descon Engineering, ECO Bags, EFU General Insurance, English Biscuit Manufacturers, Engro Polymer & Chemical, Engro Powergen Qadirpur, Fatima Fertilizer Company, Fauji  Fertilizer Company, Fauji Cement Company, Fuaji Fertilizer Bin Qasim, GE(11)O& M Balloki, Glaxosmithkline Pakistan,  Habitt, Interdesign FMC, International Power, Islamabad Serena Hotel, KAPCO Kot Addu Power Company, Kay & Emms, KSB Pumps Co., Linde Pakistan, Lotte Chemical Pakistan, Lucky Cement, M. Muhammad Shafi & Company,  MESEC, Murree Brewery Co.,  National Refinery, Oil & Gas Development Company, Packages Limited, Pak Arab Refinery, Pakistan Cables, Pakistan International Container Terminal, Pakistan Oilfields, Pakistan Telecommunication Company, Pepsi Cola International, Pfizer Pakistan, Philips Electrical Industries of Pakistan, Preimer Cable, Procter & Gamble Hub Plant Pakistan, Qarshi Industries, Rafhan Maize Products Company, Reko Pharmacal, Roots  School System, Sapna Beauty Institute, Siddiq Leather Works, Siemens Pakistan Engineering Company, Sindh Abadgar Sugar Mills, Sui Southern Gas Company, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines, Karachi Electric Supply Company, Total Oil Pakistan, Total Parco Pakistan, Track Trench & Towers Construction, Waste Busters, Water Regime, Wyeth Pakistan and Yunus Textile Mill.
The jury comprised environment experts including Shamsul Haq Memon, Consultant Sindh Coastal Authority and CEO Environment Management Consultant Nadeem Arif. NFEH has been organizing AEEA since 2004 with support of Ministry of Environment and other international environmental protection organizations and NGOs.
The award has been instituted to recognize and promote the organizations which made an outstanding contribution to sustainable development and economic growth of the country. These companies are working tremendously achieving economic and social development without harming the environment and natural resources.
