Sunday, July 07, 2013 - Karachi—Seventy five companies were awarded the 10th Annual Environment Excellence Awards (AEEA) by National Forum for Environment & Health (NFEH) for showing best environmental performance at an impressive ceremony held at a local hotel. Senator A Haseeb Khan, Commissioner Karachi Shoib Siddiqui, Former Federal minister of petroleum Sohail Wajahat Siddiqui, Consul General Yamen Dr.Ikhtiar Baig, Mahmood Akhtar Cheema, Country head IUCN, presented awards to officials of award winning companies and appreciated efforts of the industries and corporate sectors for protection of the environment andcorporate social responsibility.
More than 140 companies submitted their nominations out of which 75 were awarded. The top ten award recipient companies include Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd., English Biscuit Manufacturers Ltd., Rafhan Maize Products Company Ltd., Clariant Pakistan, Pak Arab Refinery Ltd. Lotte Chemical Pakistan Ltd., Aga Khan University Hospital, Lucky Cement Ltd., Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd., and Pfizer Pakistan Ltd.
Other organizations which received awards include Al-Rahim Textile Industries, Anis Associates, Asli Punjab Pumps Bestway Cement, CRLF Crown Group, Dawlance, Descon Engineering, ECO Bags, EFU General Insurance, Engro Polymer & Chemical, Engro Powergen Qadirpur, FatimaFertilizer Company, Fauji Fertilizer Company, Fauji Cement Company, Fuaji Fertilizer Bin Qasim, GE(11)O& M Balloki, Glaxosmithkline Pakistan, Habitt, Interdesign FMC, International Power, Islamabad Serena Hotel, KAPCO Kot Addu Power Company, Kay & Emms, KSB Pumps Co., Linde Pakistan, M.
